(go to the 3 lines on the upper left, by my name!)…There will be lots of new work to see here…though we’re still under construction.
Stay tuned…we’re on it…
Back in the day, I was always chasing Cezanne and Soutine, somewhere in the south of France. These days, I’m not so sure where the villages I’m painting come from. In fact, that seems to be the point: let it go where it’s going…it leads and I follow where it goes. We may not be coming back.
Most works shown here are acrylic paint on canvas…or stretched heavy watercolor paper. I’ll sometimes add sand to the paints…just to roughen up the mix. My trusty Paasche airbrush has become an indispensable part of my painting arsenal…along with many kinds of painting knives and a wide variety of brushes.
“When I paint…while I’m painting…I am OK…The desire to paint summons up the energy to paint. The way I feel when I have the energy to paint is one of the rewards of painting. How does the painting make you feel?
“I try to look with a critical eye, but I don’t want to be too critical…I want to see well, but I don’t want to see too much. Do you know what I mean?”
coming soon …
